Design of bulb covers for the OF series.

In 1974, I was invited by Jan Kolanowski to design covers for the OF series of bulbs. These bulbs, very popular at the time, were used in more or less haphazard covers, losing their undeniable aesthetic appeal. They were designed to be captivating in their very form and shape. In this project, function took precedence over decorative aspects. The project was preceded by research, which allowed us to precisely determine the light distribution of each bulb in the entire set. Next, we designed a system of transparent or semi-transparent "scaffoldings" on which we mounted reflectors. Their function was to reflect light in the intended direction.

This collaboration with Jan Kolanowski was both a learning experience and a privilege, as Jan had just been one of my teachers at the Faculty.
