About this work
Politicians often use the accusation of independent thinking as a basis for harsh assessments of nefarious actions and decisions. The blame lies with educated people—"educated people." This has long been a tradition. Some elites dislike educated people because, in judging their actions, they point out errors and violations of principles, including ethics. The paradox is that these same elites have made their careers thanks to their education and their separation from the stratum of society previously defined as "people" characterized by poor or no education.
