On the 120th anniversary of Adam Mickiewicz's play Forefathers' Eve, directed by Stanisław Wyspiański, in 2021, the Słowacki Theatre in Krakow presented a new vision of Forefathers' Eve, directed by Maria Kleczewska. The performance was met with enthusiasm, although the Minister of Education, with his innate culture and theatre critic's expertise, declared: it's not a forefathers' event—it's trashy.
