About this work
"I Want You," a poster inspired by British Secretary of State for War Horatio Kitchener's famous 1914 appeal to join the British Army, became the basis for numerous imitators, including perhaps the most famous American poster, James Flagg's, from 1917. All of them encouraged people to take part in wars. I decided to reverse the poster's intentions 180 degrees – Daddy, your child needs you!
